Ken Lake neighborhood sewage problem:

The City of Olympia has made note of a problem with clogged sewage pumps in the Ken Lake neighborhood. This is due to residents throwing various “flushable” wipes down the toilet. These do not degrade and get stuck in the sewage pumps and could cause a release of sewage into the Lake.

Solution:

Please DO NOT put any of the following down your toilette:

l baby wipes
l cleaning wipes
l dusting wipes
l mopping wipes
l moistened towelettes
l toilet training wipes
l insect repellant wipes
l hygienic wipes,
l paper towels
l any kind of rags.
