Re: Treatment Schedule for Ken Lake

Business and Residential Notice of Herbicide Treatment                  

Distribution Date: 5-12-09

Treatment Dates: Ken Lake will be treated with aquatic herbicide(s)/algaecide(s) on /or between June 1 through (October 1) as required.  Algae control will take place throughout the summer as needed. Weed control will take place within the following timelines: June1 through June 30, July 15 through July 30, August 15 through August 30 and September 1 through September 30.

Product(s) planned for use:

Rodeo – Do not apply within ½ mile of an active potable water intake.

Diquat – Do not use treated water as a potable supply for 3 days, no livestock or pet watering for 1 day, no turf and ornamental watering for 3 days, no irrigation to food crops for 5 days.   

Hydrothol 191- Do not use treated water for livestock, agricultural sprays, irrigation, or for domestic purposes for 7 days.

Sodium Carbonate Peroxhydrate (GreenClean) – It is advised that no swimming occur within the treated area during and within 12 hours of treatment.

Aquathol K - Do not use treated water for livestock, agricultural sprays, irrigation, or for domestic purposes for 14 days.

Location of Treatment(s): Not to exceed 60 % of the lakes littoral zone.

Treated and potentially affected areas will be sign posted the day of application. The signs will describe any water use restrictions or advisories. 

If you are withdrawing water for potable or domestic water use, livestock watering, or irrigation, and have no alternate water source, please contact the applicator Northwest Aquatic Eco-Systems at 360-357-3285 or  pondweeds@comcast.net to arrange an alternate water supply.

This herbicide treatment is regulated under a permit issued by the Washington State Department of Ecology.
