Look What's New!!Boat Racks: Boat racks at both Christopher and West Side are now available for kayaks and canoes. If you have one feel free to put you vessel on the rack. This will help make more room at the park for people and keep your boat clean. Sorry owners of paddle boats and dinghies, we don't yet know how to store your boats. If you have an idea how to make boat storage better, call Jim Nieland at 360.431.2509. Let's thank the four volunteers, Bill and Kathy Hibbert & Jim and Libby Nieland for going above and beyond the role of LCC Board members. Second Cleanup Day - The Entrance: Twenty-one volunteers showed up to clean the entrance. It is amazing what sweat-equity can do. Thank you everyone for your time and your enthusiasm. Park Cleanup Day: Special Thanks to the 20 volunteers who gave their time to the community to help clean up the parks. Unfortunately there is still so much left to do, including ivy removal and cleaning the entrance median. Hopefully there will be more volunteers on the second Cleanup Day of 2010 or we may have to hire a grounds maintenance company. West
Side Park: A brand new sprinkler system. New controllers, check
values to prevent backflow of dirty water, and sprinkler heads will provide
better coverage of the park grounds while reducing the expense of watering. Our
contractor, Tim's Irrigation, known to several of our residents, gave us prompt
high-quality service that fell within our budget. We are now fully
compliant with current plumbing requirements.
The
Tot Lot: The park has taken on a new look with
the instillation of benches and new playground equipment for tots and the young
at heart. The LCC Board is currently debating different ideas for some even bigger long-range plans for this area. Boats: If you have a boat at the park, be sure to check on it. Some are right side up and full of water. |
